Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Solid State Society is a cartoon film (Anime OAV) left in 2006 with the Japan, based on the series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex , itself based on the Manga of Masamune Shirow Ghost in the Shell .

original Title: 攻殻機動隊 S.A.C. Solid State Society ( Kōkaku Kidōtai: Solid State Society )

It is produced by Production I.G and is directed by Kenji Kamiyama. The film has a budget of production of 360 million yen (equivalent to 3 million euro).

In order to present it in its optimal quality, the first of film took place in Japan on the paying satellite network SKY PerfecTV! the September 1st 2006. It was also diffused on the satellite network TV Animax the May 27th 2007.

The film left in DVD to Japan the November 24th 2006 then distributed to the the United States by Bandai Entertainment and Manga Entertainment in normal and limited edition the July 3rd 2007.

The chain Sci Fi Chanel diffused film within the framework of its crenel “Ani-Monday” (Monday-Animations) the June 11th 2007, in broad format screen. The chain also made the choice diffuse the adult version rather than the alternate version any public, while floutant the scenes of “naked”.

Solid State Society left in France in DVD in September 2007.

History

We are in 2034.

That made 2 years that “Major” Motoko Kusanagi left Section 9 and works on his account, following the events which have occurred at the time of season 2 of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex . Togusa became the leader of an increased team, always under the supervision of Aramaki.

This news Section 9 is confronted with a series of unexplained suicides among the members of a military junta threatening to achieve terrorist acts in the country to make obstacle with a bill of the Prime Minister. Their investigation reveals soon the implication of a mysterious hacker called the Marionnettiste .

Whereas Batou follows a track, it crosses the “Major” who gives him a strange council: " Keep away from the Solid State ". On its side, the Section 9 discovers soon that a great number of children would have been removed with an unknown aim.

But couldn't Kusanagi be the Marionnettiste ? …
