Ghazi Youssef

Ghazi Youssef (born with Beirut in 1954) is an economist and a Lebanese politician.

Doctor of economy, graduate with the the United States, he was the adviser many Lebanese political personalities, among which the former minister Mohammad Youssef Beydoun between 1990 and 1992, then Fouad Siniora between 1992 and 1998. Its relation with Rafiq Hariri will develop particularly as of 1998 and it became one of its closer economic councils.

It presented to the legislative elections 2000 for the seat of Shiite deputy of the 3rd district of Beirut, but withdrew its candidature little before the poll. With the return to at the end of capacity 2000 of Rafiq Hariri, Ghazi Youssef is named general secretary of the High council of Privatization. In 2005, supported by Saad Hariri and the Running of the Future, he is elected of Shiite appointed office of the capital, and becomes thus one of the two only Shiite deputies of the Alliance of March 14th.
