Ghardaïa

Ghardaïa (Tifinagh: , Arab: ولايةغرداية) is a Oasis located at the center of the Algérie, it is the chief town of the Wilaya de Ghardaïa. The city is populated of more than 100.000 inhabitants.
Seven oases of Mzab
Ghardaïa consists of seven (07) “Ksour” of Mzab:

Berriane or bergan: built in 1285 it is the door of the cities of the mzab
- Ghardaïa: draw its name from the word Berbère “tagherdayt”, which is a diminutive of “igherd” literally “oasis”. It is a small oasis.
- Mélika or “Atemlichet”: this oasis is regarded as a Holy City, it contains the tomb of Sidi Aïssa and its family.
- Blessed Isguen or “At Isgen” or “At Izgen”
- Bounoura or “At Bounour”
- El Atteuf or “Tajnint”: built in 1012, it is the senior of the seven cities of Mzab.
