Gharb Darfur
The Gharb Darfur (Darfur Western) is one of the 26 provinces of the Sudan.
Gharb Darfur has a surface of 79.460 km ² and a population of approximately 1.500.000 inhabitants (2000).
The town of Al-Djounaina is the capital.
Gharb Darfur is the most Western area of Sudan, it belongs to the zone the Sahel ienne. Gharb Darfur is a province Montagne uses. Nevertheless it is more favorable to the agriculture than much of other provinces soudanises, the mountains supporting precipitations with these desert latitudes.
The majority religion in this province is the Islam.
The situation of people of Gharb Darfur is worsened by the Civil war in Darfur.
