Gewehr 94

The rifle Modèle 1894 is the first of the Swedish Mauser : name given by the collectors to the rifles of gauge 6, mm Mauser, with cylinder head adopted by the Sweden between 1894 and 1960.

The two weapons were designed with the mechanism Mauser with armament with closing similar to the Lee-Enfield contrary to the mechanism of armament to the opening such as on Mauser K98. The stick is English and the lever of arm is right.

M96 rifle

The model 1896 (M96) was adopted by Sweden on March 20th, 1896. It was conceived to draw the cartridge 6.5x55 adopted by Norway and Sweden in 1893. The first weapons were manufactured in Germany with the factory of Mauser Obendorf. The manufacturer Carl Gustav will take the changing. The two manufacturers were held to use Swedish steel, judged by the latter like superior. Manufacture will continue until 1938.

M38 rifle

Adopted in 1938, it was shorter than the rifles of infantry while being longer than those of the cavalry. Certaines M96 was converted into M38, becoming models M96/M38. All M38 were manufactured with Husqvarna Vapenfabrik until 1944. The last M96 and M38 were withdrawn officially from the military inventory in 1978.

Adopted in 1941, it is M38 provided with glasses of précion of German or Swedish manufacture

Modern rifle

The companies Ruger and Winchester always produce rifles barrack rooms in 6.5x55.
