Get Backers

GetBackers ( GetBackers Dakkanya ) is a Manga of Yûya Aoki (for the scenario) and Rando Ayamine (for the drawing).

History

The history tells that of two young adults (Ban Mido and Ginji Amano) who form a group called GetBackers. Their work consists in “recovering” the objects which their customers lost. The action proceeds with the Japan, and mainly with Shinjuku (a district of Tokyo), in a near future. The characteristic of the two heroes is that they have extraordinary capacities.

Ginji can produce electricity and at will control it thanks to very developed body cells. Round of applause has as for him a force of comes up colossal of 200 kg pressure and the Jagan (“eye malefic”) which causes very powerful illusions at all those which cross its glance.

Our two heroes will try to fulfill with good their missions to gain a maximum of money. Little by little, it is discovered moreover that Ginji has heavy last and that the missions will bring it on the grounds of its childhood.

Characters

Mugenjo

The Mugenjo is the key component of the universe of GetBackers. All the questions that the protagonists of the history are posed seem to find answer over there. The word Mugenjo means “castle of infinite”, it is about a group of ultra buildings modern abandoned right before the end of work and which is used as refuge with different bet company.

It is divided into three zones:

  1. the lower zone which is inhabited by human lambda was directed a Ginji time which directed the Volts , its nickname was “ the emperor of the lightning ” in the Mugenjo , it manages to produce more than 800.000 volts and to even create plasma. Currently it is Makubex which ensures the safety of the places.
  2. the intermediate zone Belt Line , Kazuki in spite of its power succeeded forever does not have to overcome the adversaries of this zone.
  3. the higher zone Babylon City , directed by a named organization Brain trust and which would shelter the “gods of Mugenjo” . This organization seems to make a giant laboratory of tests on the inhabitants of the " Lower Town" and engages of the people having of the capacities exeptionnels.

The worst atrocities seem to proceed over there, the inhabitants of the lower zone fearing the attacks unceasingly coming from the intermediate zone. On date of drafting, one knows that the Mugenjo exists partly thanks to a very thorough Virtual reality, certain inhabitants not existing " officiellement" were created by computer (what explains why a good part of the inhabitants cannot leave the places). Makubex, which thinks that its existence is artificial, made use besides of this virtual reality in order to simulate a Tyrannie with an aim of avoiding any overflow in the lower zone but brought back to the reason by Ginji it will succeed in releasing Lower Town of the influence of Babylon City. Nobody knows neither who is with the head of Brain-trust , nor why they created such a system.

Publication

To the Japan, the first volume left the August 17th 1999. Today, the manga is finished, and them adventures of Ginji and Ban count 39 volumes in Japan. The series was published in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine and is also published in Tankōbon (volumes connected).

In France to date, 24 volumes out of 39 are appeared. GetBackers started by being published in the book Shōnen Collection at the sides of other series such as Young GTO or Cyborg Kurochan . The series is published in volumes connected since November 2003 at Pika Edition.

Animates

As all the mangas which are a great success, GetBackers was seen adapted on television. This version takes again certain adventures of the original manga but proposes also episodes out of the ordinary. Its diffusion began in October 2002 (in Japan), and finished at the end of one season of 49 episodes. (49 24 minutes episodes).

Video games

All the plays resulting from the Manga Get Backers were developed by Konami and left only to the Japan.
