Gervais de Belleme
Gervais de Bellème , also called Gervais of the Rock-Guyon is downward of Aimon, Seigneur of Castle-of-Dormouse and Hildeburge de Bellème. He is nephew of the bishop of the Mans, Avesgaud , by his mother.
The House of Castle of the Dormouse was related of long time to the Maison of Blois and the house of Belleme on that of the Maison of Anjou; Gervais de Bellème takes the party of Eudes {{II}} of Blois in its fight against the Counts d' Anjou, and it is under its influence that he becomes bishop of the Mans in 1036.
The October 15th 1055, Gervais de Bellème is established archbishop of Rheims following the request of the king Henri {{Ier}} with the pope Victor {{II}}. It is the 44e archbishop of Rheims.
The archbishop Gervais de Bellème proceeds to the sacring of Philippe Ier |Philippe {{Ier}} in 1059 with the cathedral of Rheims.
He exerts the regency of the kingdom of 1060 with 1066, assisted of the mother and the uncle of the king, the Count de Flandre Baudouin {{V}} while waiting for the majority of the king.
He dies in 1067.
