Gervais Martel

Born in 1954 with Oignies, Gervais Martel is president of the club of Football of RC Lens since 1988. The club then crosses a difficult period on the sporting level (last of the championship, the RC Lens goes down in the second division) and financier. It then will rebuild the club, will make up its deficit and will make it go up in the first division in 1991. The RC Lens will know then one of the most beautiful period of its History: qualification for UEFA Cup in 1995 and 1996, champion of France in 1998, Cut of the League in 1999, semi-final of UEFA Cup in 2000 and participation in the League of the Champions 1998-1999 and 2002 - 2003.

Gervais Martel directs a course of Golf to Arras, sport of which it is impassioned. Gervais Martel is stammerer since childhood.
