Gerrit Voorting

Gerrit Voorting is an old runner professional cyclist Dutch, born the January 18th 1923 with Velsen.

His/her brother Adri Voorting was also a runner professional cyclist of 1953 with 1960.

He will become professional in 1950 and until in 1961 will remain it. It will gain 21 victories.

It took part in 10 Tours of France and was classified: abandonment in 1950 and 1951, 22e in 1952, 17th in 1953 and 1954, abandonment in 1955, 11th in 1956, 29e in 1957, 47e in 1958 and abandonment in 1959.

It gained 2 victories of stages: one in the Turn 1953 in the 4th stage of Lille to Dieppe and one in the Turn 1958 in the 2nd stage of Ghent to Dunkirk.

It also had happiness to on the whole carry during 4 days the Yellow jersey in the Tour 1956 during 1 day and in the Tour 1958 during 3 days.
