Geroldseck

The lords of Geroldseck , Acknowledged S of the abbey of Marmoutier in Alsace, occupied a Fief of évêché of Metz until about 1390. This stronghold included/understood two castles (the Château of Large-Geroldseck the and the Château of Small-Geroldseck the) and thirteen villages.

Between 1109 and 1387, one distinguishes three lines:

  • that of Othon Ier until towards 1193

  • that of Bourcard II until towards 1362

  • that of Simon Ier until towards 1390
