Germaine Poinso-Chapuis
Germaine Poinso-Chapuis is a French political woman, born the March 6th 1901 with Marseilles, it died in its birthplace the February 20th 1981.
It obtains a doctorate of Roman Droit . It is lawyer E with the Barreau of Marseilles. It takes part in the Résistance. It is a close relation of Gaston Defferre, deals with its law firm whereas he takes the maquis and manages a case of resistance of the Socialist party. It is member of the departmental committee of Libération.
Germaine Poinso-Chapuis is elected Député MRP of the Rhone delta in 1945 (first and second constituent National Assembly, National Assembly, 1st and 2nd legislature) until end 1955.
She is Minister for the Public health and the Population in the cabinet Robert Schuman (1) of the November 24th 1947 with the July 26th 1948. It is the first time that a woman is Ministre of full exercise. In the capacity as minister, it makes vote laws on the public health and the Child welfare.
It was municipal adviser in Marseilles.
