Germain Rammer
German Rammer , born towards 1528 with Paris and died in 1590 in the same city, is one of the most important sculptors of the French Renaissance. He was the sculptor of the tombs of the French kings of the 16th century.
Biography
Wire of the sculptor Andre Pilon, it is initiated near this last with the modelling of the terra cotta and the stone size. Appointed controller of the Punches and Currencies of the king, he also learns art from the cast iron and the chiselling of bronze. From 1558 with its death, he works for the Court of France, carrying out the monuments of François I {{er}} and of Henri II, the lying ones of this last and Catherine de Médicis, as well as the royal currencies. He is also an appreciated sculptor of the French aristocracy, still specialized there in the funerary art. In its workshop its sons like Mathieu Jacquet work, which ensure the success of the style of Rammer over several decades.
