Germain Giraud
German Charles Giraud , born on May 26th, 1938 with Avignon, is a French politician, who exerts the functions of mayor of Thor since 1989. Since 2002, he is also First Vice-president of the Community of Communes of the Country of Sorgues and the Mounts of Vaucluse (which gathers the communes of Châteauneuf-of-Gadagne, of Saumane-of-Vaucluse, Fountain-of-Vaucluse, It Isle-on-the-Sorgue and Thor).
After having begun again the family company, it ensures the direction of it during 30 years. The Mills Charles Giraud, of the name of the father of Germain Giraud, position quickly like one of the French main actors of the cereal market and miller.
In continuity, Germain Giraud founds in 1981 the Générale of Flours of France which will position with the third national rank of the millers groups.
In 1989, the mayor of Thor, Gaston Manual, asks him to take his succession.
He also took the presidency of the Mixed trade-union of Management of the Basin Upstream of Sorgues, the presidency of the Trade union of Management of the Departmental School of Music and Dance of Thor.
Candidate for his succession in 1995 then in 2001, it also presented to the Legislative Elections of 2002.
In 2006, it joined the Union for a Popular movement.
