Gerhard Skiba

Gerhard Skiba (SPÖ) was elected as mayor of the town of Braunau amndt Inn in 1989. It is known internationally thanks to the construction of a preventive monument against Fascism in front of the native house of Adolf Hitler. In 1992, representatives of the Concentration camp of Mauthausen, Bautzen, Wunsiedel and other places with a “undesirable heritage” met in Braunau, answering its invitation with the first Journées of the Modern history of Braunau.
