Gerard Saumade

Gerard Saumade is a French Politician, born the May 3rd 1926 with Saint-Mathieu-with-Tréviers (Herault), its profession of origin is University lecturer in Economic scenes

Deputy of the Herault of 1988 with 2002, it sits at the socialist group of 1988 with 1993. In dissidence with the PS after the legislative ones of 1993 when it eliminates Georges Frêche, the official candidate of the PS to the first turn which had come to charm its seat of deputy to him on the fourth district, it sits at the group République and freedom of 1993 to 1997, then with the group Radical, Verts and Citizens of 1997 to 2002. He then decides to be connected with the Mouvement of the citizens

He was also mayor of Saint-Mathieu-with-Tréviers of 1965 to 2006, general adviser of the Canton of Matelles of 1973 with 1998 and chair General advice of Herault of 1979 to 1998. He withdrew himself from the political life in 2006.

Its mandate of president was marked, especially after 1993, by a savage opposition to the mayor of Montpellier Georges Frêche, which he hates cordially.
