Gerard Rifle

Journalist, man of radio, Gerard Fusil also worked for the daily written press, magazine and for television. Through its trade, its hobbies and its creations of events, it cut an international reputation in the world of the adventure.

International reporter to Europe 1, it touched initially with the economy, the policy, the environment. It carried out reports of war (Guerre of the Gulf) and reports sporting (Olympic Games, Tour de France, Internationaux of Tennis, Coupes of América, veil, twelve Paris-Dakar and six recognitions of course, three Camel Trophy, Paris Beijing, several races in mountain…)

Gerard Fusil also took part in many races in Multicoque and monoshell carrying out three crossings of the Atlantic in race and hanging to his prize list the record of the crossing of the Atlantic in 1981. He was one of the three team-members of Marc Pajot on the Trimaran Elf Aquitaine to cross the Atlantic in 9 days and 10 hours.

Unrepentant traveller, it discovers a new manner of exploring the world, of making known it, but more especially of preserving it and made adventure his trade.

In 1987, Gerard Fusil had the idea of a natural great adventure sport: two years later it created the first Raid Gallic.

It directed the organization until 1997 from there, making this test the reference as regards “sport-nature” through the following destinations: New Zealand, Costa Rica, New Caledonia, Sultanate of Oman, Madagascar, Malaysia, Argentinian, South Africa and Lesotho.

At the end of the twentieth century, the concept of test ventures joined the great ideas of our time. Gerard Fusil launches a new challenge then. He organizes in April 1999 with the Filipino , the first competition of adventure and of exchange, “Elf Authentique Ventures”. This great forwarding in competition combines sporting engagement with ethical criteria, the discovery of the human and natural richnesses. It mixes in the same adventure the best athletes and the simple in love ones with the sport and the discovery. The competition and the exchanges between the country host and the competitors come from the whole world are a success

The second edition was held from April 14th to 29th 2000 in the Nordeste Brazil and made Authentic Adventure the first competition world “Sport-Nature-Ventures” with in particular nearly 500 hours of tele diffusions in the world”
