Gerard Larcher

Gerard Larcher , born the September 14th 1949 with Flers (Flowering ash), is a Politician French member of the Union for a popular movement (UMP).

Biography

Gerard Larcher exerted as Vétérinaire campaign during 14 years. He then exerted within the team of France of equestrian Sports which he followed to the Olympic Games of Montreal in 1976. He gave up this activity after his election as senator.

Electoral mandates

Mayor of Rambouillet since 1983, it left his post of mayor to its first assistant Jean-Frederic Poisson during his nomination to the government in April 2004. He is re-elected by the municipal council and finds his seat of mayor in 2007, not having preserved the title of minister in the Gouvernement Fillon. Of 1985 with 1989, he is regional adviser of Île-de-France and senator of the Yvelines elected the September 28th 1986, re-elected the September 24th 1995 and resigner the April 30th 2004 (he was the youngest elected official of the Senate)

Former vice-president of the Senate (of 1997 to 2001), he is also former president of the commission of the economic affairs and the plan of the Senate (April-May 2004).

He is become again senator on October 1st, 2007, following the resignation of Adeline Gousseau.

Governmental functions

He by twice exerted governmental functions, as deputy secretary with the business acquaintances in the government Raffarin III of the March 31st 2004 with the May 31st 2005, then as deputy secretary with employment, the work and the professional insertion of the young people in the Gouvernement Dominique de Villepin of the June 2nd 2005 with the May 15th 2007.
