Biography
Gerard Jaquet adheres to SFIO in 1932. He was successively federal secretary of the the Seine, assistant general secretary of clandestine SFIO, member of both Constituent Assemblées, then Député Socialiste of the Seine (1946 - 1958).Minister of France Overseas of the Government Maurice Bourges-Maunoury, from June 13rd to November 6th 1957, and of the Strong Felix Government, from November 6th, 1957 to May 14th, 1958.
Member of the Political office of the socialist party, director of the Daily Popular the (? - 1965), president of the European Left , national secretary with the foreign relations, deputy with the European Assembly (1979 - 1984), vice-president of the the European Parliament (1979 - 1982).
