Gerard Calvi

Gerard Calvi , of his true name Gregoire Krettly , born with Paris on July 26th, 1922, is a Compositeur and Leader French. He is the father of the journalist Yves Calvi and the photographer Jean-François Krettly.

Biography

Gerard Calvi made his studies with the Conservatoire of Paris, from where it left titular prestigious Grand Prix of Rome of musical composition. He composed of the musics for Edith Piaf ( the Prisoner of the Tower , on words of Francis Blanche, 1946), Liza Minnelli and Frank Sinatra ( It is only one song , 1954). He also composed of many symphonic works, the parts for Soliste S, of the chamber musics, the musical partitions for the theater and the cinema. He signed several musics of the cartoons of Astérix
