Geraldine Branagan
Geraldine Branagan more known sound the name of Geraldine , is an Irish artist.
In 1973, Geraldine with her group The Branagans, tried to be qualified to defend the Irish colors with the Eurovision festival by presenting to the eliminating heats organized by Irish television RTÉ. She sang the song Long length ago . Unfortunately it arrived only at the 4th place, and thus could not be qualified.
In 1975, it is finally chosen by RTL to represent the Luxembourg with the Concours Eurovision of the song with the title You . It arrived at the 5th place of the final classification.
Geraldine Branagan married the Irish lyric writer Phil Coulter, joint author of the song You , but also of Puppet there is String (Eurovision Grand Prix in 1967) and Congratulations (song representing the the United Kingdom in 1968).
It should be noted that Geraldine interpreted " Casablanca" in an episode of the " Benny Hill Show" in March 1979. It also made a round in South Africa in 1982 in company of the guitarist Tony Cox.
