Georgy Lvov

Knyaz (Prince) Georgy Evguényévitch Lvov (, Georgij Evgen' evič the vov) (November 2nd 1861 with the March 7th 1925) was a Russian politician and the first post-imperial Prime Minister of the Russia, March 23rd with the July 7th 1917.

Pre-revolution

Prince Lvov was born with Dresden, in a family of Rurikid, downward of the princes of Yaroslavl. Its family moved, of Germany, at the house of family in Popovka, in the area of Aleksin close to Tula, shortly after her birth. It received a diploma of the university of Moscow in right, then worked in the public office until 1893. It joined the liberal constitutional democratic party. One year afterwards, it gained a seat at the time of the elections of the first Douma and was appointed minister. He became president of the union “All-Russian” of Zemstvos in 1914; and in 1915, he became a chief of the union of Zemstvos and member of Zemgor, a joint committee of the union of: Zemstvos and of the union of the cities which helped the supply of the soldiers tents for the casualties of the First World War.

During and after the revolution

After the Russian first Revolution and the abdication of Nicolas II, emperor of (it) Russia, Lvov became chief of the provisional government of (it) Russia (Russian). Incompetent to gather sufficient support, it resigned in July 1917 in favor of his Minister for justice, Alexandre Kerensky. Lvov was stopped when the Bolcheviks seized the power. It is escaped and was established with Paris where it passed the remainder of its life. It is buried with the Russian cemetery of Holy-Genevieve-of-Wood.
