Georges Van Parys

Georges van Parys , born the June 7th 1902 with Paris and dead the January 29th 1971 in this same city, is a Compositeur of film musics and Opérette S or light music very involving. The longevity of its career is exceptional since it extends from the Années 1930 with the Années 1970.

Pianist talented, it discovers, around sixteen years, the Groupe of the Six, Ravel and Debussy which it will not cease taking as a starting point.

In 1924, it begins with the Cabaret At Fyscher , like guide with the Piano of the high-speed motorboats such as Yvonne George, Gaby Montbreuse, Lucienne Boyer and Arletty. Starting from 1927, it signs its first operettas, in particular with Serge Veber and Philippe Parès: Excentric , Water with the mouth , Louis XIV with Dranem, Morton, Pauline Paperboard, Hegoburu Spitz, Davia.

Its meeting with Clear Rene, in 1930, is determining at one time when the Cinéma knows a major turning, that of speaking. Rene Clair engages it for first French musical sound film, the Million. It is a precursor of this new invention which is the music with the cinema. It signs more than three hundred partition S of films, of which some now form part of traditional French Cinéma.

Vice-president of SACEM, his career was rewarded by the Grand Prix for the Music for the Company for the Authors in 1968. He is buried with the cemetery of the Villiers-on-Marne (94)
