Georges Séguy

Georges Séguy is a French politician and trade unionist. It was born on March 16th, 1927 with Toulouse (Haute-Garonne).

Biography

Workman printer and trade-union activist, it becomes responsible for the Franc-tireurs and in favor French (FTPF) during the Second world war. It is stopped in 1944 and is off-set with the camp of Mauthausen.
After the Release, he is member of the trade union of the railwaymen of Toulouse of 1946 to 1949. General secretary of the CGT Federation of the railwaymen of 1961 to 1965, he becomes general secretary of the CGT of 1967 to 1982. He is today honorary president of the Institut CGT of social history (IHS-CGT).

He was also member of the political office of the PCF in the years 1960-70.
