Georges Rigal
Georges Rigal , born the January 6th 1890 and deceased the March 25th 1974, was a swimmer French and a player of Water sports shirt which was Olympic champion then president of the French federation of swimming.
Champion of France and recordman of France of the 100 meters freestyle in 1911, it took part in the Olympic Games of summer of 1912 where it was eliminated in series. He was the first French swimmer to adopt the style of the crawl (source: '' Olympic Revue '' pdf).
There remains especially famous for its career of player of toilets sports shirt. With the team of France, he was Olympic champion in 1924. He evolved/moved with the club of the Libellule of Paris, with which he gained four championships of France.
A Parisian swimming pool (XIe arr.) bears its name.
