Georges Oltramare

Georges Oltramare alias Géo Oltramare, of its complete name Georges Albert Oltramare, born the April 17th 1896 with the Petit-Saconnex and deceased the August 16th 1960 with Geneva, is a Journaliste and fascistic Militant known Suisse in France under the Pseudonyme of Charles Dieudonné .

Biography

Private life

It is born in an easy family originating in Genoa and taken refuge for religious reasons in Geneva. He is the son of a respected professor of university, Jean-Paul Oltramare, senior of the Faculty of Arts of Geneva and Berthe Carteret, girl of the to advise State Antoine Carteret.

He marries in 1925 Marcelle-Juliette Pictet de Rochemont, resulting from an old distinguished Genevese family, then in second weddings Olga-Anna de Donici.

Literary universe

It begins studies of Droit which it gives up to move towards a literary career. In 1916, it leaves for Bucharest where he becomes tutor of the one of the children of prince Ghica and sends articles to the Journal of Geneva . Returned in Geneva, Switzerland publishes its weekly tickets which it signs G.O. which will be transformed into Géo . However, the newspaper lays off it because of the virulence of its articles anti-semites. In reaction, it launches in 1923 its own satirical newspaper , the Pilori , which will reach them: 20000 specimens and in which it is caught some with the Juifs, with the politicians and the “racketeers”.

In 1930, it launches out in the policy while being presented to the Genevese cantonal elections which it loses. In December of the same year, it creates its own party of fascistic Idéologie , the national political Order. November 9th, 1932, the National union puts in public charge at the communal room of Plainpalais two socialist directors: Leon Nicole and Jacques Dicker. A counter-demonstration is organized by the militants of left. To maintain the order, the Genevese government utilizes the recruits of the school of Infanterie of Lausanne. Some of the soldiers open fire on the crowd of the demonstrators making 13 died and 65 wounded. The government dominated by the right , which it National union ensures a majority the Grand the Council and which is represented there by Edmond Turrettini, intervenes so that Nicole and other Socialists are accused for these disorders. Condemned, Nicole is however elected six months later, at her coming out of prison, the government.

In 1935, Georges Oltramare is elected with the National council for a four years mandate. It is then called “small Duce of Geneva”. In 1936, the National union obtains ten seats with the Great Genevese Council. Oltramare profits from the assistance and subsidies of the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini which receives it in May 1937 with Rome with a group of militants.

In 1938, it adopts the Nazisme. After the failure of a merger plan enters the National union and the Democratic party (current Liberal party) Genevese, free Oltramare in 1939 its movement which périclite.

Political activities in France

In June 1940, at the request of Otto Abetz, it settles in France where it directs, under the pseudonym of Charles Dieudonné, the newspaper socialist France (future France with work ) which it leaves running 1941 to animate with Radio Paris several emissions like At the rate/rhythm of time , Jews against France (cabaret anti-semite) and a neutral speaks , a personal chronicle to you.

Post-war period

In September 1944, he flees with Sigmaringen. Stopped by allied troops, he is extradited towards Switzerland where, on April 21st, 1945, he is accused for attack with the state security and independence of the Swiss Confederation. On the intervention of his friends and his family, it is slackened in 1946 prohibited but to publish newspapers. He is again accused in 1947 and is condemned to three years of prison and five years of deprivation of civic rights.
