Georges Nouelle

Georges Nouelle is a French politician born the August 30th 1887 with Mansac and deceased the October 7th 1966 with Châlon-sur-saône.

Member of the French Section of the International worker, it is very close to Paul Faure, his general secretary, also established politically in Saône-et-Loire. He becomes appointed department in 1924 and preserves his seat until the end of the Third Republic.

In 1926, he becomes also mayor of Châlon-sur-saône. Having voted in favor of the given of the full powerss to the Marshal Pétain on July 10th, 1940, it can preserve its town hall under the occupation, which is worth to him to be revoked about it with the Release; it then leaves its place to another close relation of Paul Faure, Julien Satonnet, before taking again its functions of mayor in 1952 once become again eligible. It will preserve this station until 1965.

Remained in favor of Paul Faure, Georges Nouelle is excluded from the SFIO in 1945. He then takes part in the creation of the democratic Socialist party and the Rassemblement of the Republican lefts, center coalition influential under the Fourth Republic.
