Georges Moustaki

Georges Moustaki (Alexandria, May 3rd, 1934 -), of his true name Giuseppe Mustacchi, is an author, Compositeur and interprets.

Biography

Born with Alexandria, in Egypt, the May 3rd 1934, Greek parents originating in the island of Corfou, it grows in a multicultural environment (Juif, Greek, Italy N, Arab, French) and is impassioned quickly for the Littérature and the French Chanson (and in particular Edith Piaf).

Come with Paris in 1951, it follows the occupation of Journaliste, then barman in a piano-bar, which leads it to attend personalities of the musical world of the time. He intends Georges Brassens thus to occur one evening, and it is for him a revelation. It will not have of cease to refer to its Master thereafter, going until adopting his first name in its homage. In 1958, it meets Edith Piaf, for whom it will write one of her the most known songs, Milord . It will have with the great lady an impetuous but short relation. Throughout the Years 1960, it positions like a type-setter lyric writer for the great names of the French song like Yves Montand, Barbara and especially Serge Reggiani. It then creates songs which will remain among its greater success: Sarah , My Loneliness , Joseph and My Freedom or the long brown lady which he then interprets in duet with Barbara. Its currency is: the man goes down from the dream.

In 1968, it writes, composes and interprets the Wog , a romantic ballade which speaks from a little éthéré abroad, soft dreamer, without fastener.
These is a great international success which marks a new beginning of its career of artist. In January 1970, it makes its first great concert in the high-speed motorboat with Bobino. One then discovers an artist who privileges a cordial environment, of proximity with his public.

During the three following decades, he traverses the world to occur but especially to find news Inspiration S.

Its discs follow one another and do not resemble. This prolific musician carries on his road, finding in the rounds according to the exits of his new albums the pretext to meet his public once again.
