Georges Malbrunot

Georges Malbrunot is a Journaliste French, international reporter for Le Figaro.

Diploma of the practical Institute of journalism (IPJ) in 1986, its name became known general public when it was removed in Iraq the August 20th 2004 and taken in Otage by the Islamic army in Iraq. The kidnappers posed at the French government the ultimatum to cancel the Loi on secularity. In exchange of what they would release Georges and Christian Chesnot.

Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot was released the December 21st 2004.

According to an article of Times appeared on its Internet site the May 22nd 2006, France would have poured 15 million dollars (11,8 million euros) for the release of Georges Mabrunot and his fellow-member Christian Chesnot. The French government maintains its denial on the payment of any ransom.
