Biography
Wire of the famous naturalist Georges-Louis Leclerc, count de Buffon (1707 - 1788), Rivarol said of him that it was “the worst chapter of the natural history of his father”.He married in 1784 Marguerite Francoise Bouvier of Mothe de Cépoy (1767 - 1808). Shortly after its marriage, this one became the mistress of the Duc of Orleans, future Philippe-Equality, which gave him a son, Victor (1792 - 1812), given like that of Mr. de Buffon. They divorced on January 14th 1794, a few months after the execution of the duke.
The count de Buffon was also guillotine under the Terreur, the glory of his father not having been enough to save it scaffold. He expired by addressing to the people these only words: “Citizens, I name myself Buffon”.
