Georges Kassarji

Georges Kassarji (born in Zahlé in 1938) is a Lebanese politician of Armenian origin.

Business man, member of the party Dashnak ( Tachnag ), it is elected in 1992 orthodoxe Armenian appointed of Zahlé on the prosyrian lists.

Néanmois, it is posted at the Parliament like opponent with the economic policies of the successive governments, as well those of Rafiq Hariri as that of Salim El-Hoss, in particular on the file of telecommunications and mobile telephony. It presented, without success, several motions of censure against the Ministers for Telecommunications Issam Naaman and Jean-Louis Cardahi.

He is re-elected in 1996 and 2000. In 2005, it presents within the list of alliance between the local leader Elias Skaff and the Free patriotic current of Michel Aoun and is elected with 51% of the voices.

Within the Parliament, it belongs today to the Bloc of the reform and the change directed by Aoun.
