Georges Cartier
Georges Cartier is a Professor, Poète and Romancier Québécois born with the Assumption, the April 4th 1929 and deceased in 1994. He is the founder of the National library of Quebec.
He obtained a license in letters and a baccalaureat in Bibliothéconomie and Bibliographie and a Doctorat of the Université of Montreal.
He occupied several functions in the fields of the culture and the libraries. He worked for UNESCO as director of the Service of distribution of information. He returns to the Quebec in 1964 to direct the Bibliothèque Saint-Sulpice with the objective to give at this institution the statute of National library. In 1967, he becomes the Conservative as a chief of the news National library of Quebec.
Of 1973 with 1977, he is professor of Bibliothéconomie of the Université of Montreal.
