Georges Calvez
Born with Plouha on October 11th, 1918, Georges Calvez , sergeant in the free French Air forces, was the pilot of a Bristol Blenheim of the Groupe of bombardment “Lorraine” which, with fuel court, disappeared in the desert on February 5th, 1941, with the return of a mission carried out on the oasis of Koufra. The apparatus, intact, was not found - with its three dead team members of thirst and exhaustion - that in 1959.
Georges Calvez, died for France in air operation, was decorated with the Military decoration and the Médaille of Resistance. He rests in the cemetery of Plouha.
