George Thomas Moore

George Thomas Moore is a American Botaniste , born the February 23rd 1871 with Indianapolis and dead the November 27th 1956.

He is the son of George T. Moore and Margaret born Marshall. He obtains his Bachelor off Sciences in Wabash College in 1894, his Bachelor off Arts with Harvard in 1895, then his Master off Arts in 1896 and, finally, his doctorate in 1900. It Marie with Emma L. Hall the December 30th 1896 (this one dies in January 1934), union of which he will have two children.

He is assistant in Cryptogamie in Harvard then teaching in Radcliffe College. Of 1899 with 1901, it teaches the Botanique in Dartmouth College. He becomes physiologist and algologist for the department of the industrial plants to the ministry for Agriculture in 1901. Of 1903 with 1905, it directs the laboratory of vegetable physiology, then, of 1909 with 1919, it has in load botany with the Laboratoire of biology marinades (MBL) of Massachusetts. In parallel, he teaches the botany applied and vegetable physiology to Shaw School of the university of Washington. Starting from 1912, it directs the Botanical garden of the Missouri.

Moore is member various learned societies of which the American Association for the Advancement off Science. It is devoted mainly to the algae and develops a technique to prevent the risks of contamination of the water tanks by algae.
