George Sisler

George Harold Sisler (March 24th, 1893 - March 26th, 1973) was an American player of Baseball. It spent 15 seasons in the major Leagues, 12 of these seasons with the Browns of Saint-Louis like Joueur of first goal.

It began its career as launcher but the manager wanted that it plays each day as player of first goal. It was established like one of the best strikers of the league, having an average higher than 0,300 9 seasons of at a stretch. 1920 was its best season: 257 sure Blows including 49 doubles, 18 triple and 19 Blows of circuit. It led the league to the Moyenne with the stick with an average of 0,407 and was classified 2nd for the circuits after Babe Ruth. It thus beat the record of Ty Cobb for the greatest number of sure blows in one season. The record was exceeded by Ichiro Suzuki in 2004. In 1922 it exceeded its own average with the stick by striking 0,420 - the third best average of the 20th century after those of Rogers Hornsby and Napoleon Lajoie. Following this performance, he was elected the Meilleur player of the major leagues. He was also a good runner with 375 goals stolen in his career - he stole at least 30 goals 6 times at the time of his first 8 seasons, but after an attack of Sinusite in 1923 its speed weakened.

Sisler was transferred to the Braves from Boston in 1928 where it struck an average with the top of 0,300 but without threatening the course of 100 produced Points which it would have liked to strike. It took its retirement in 1930 with an average with life of 0,340,2812 sure blows, 102 blows of circuit and 1175 points produced. He was elected with the Temple of re-elected baseball in 1939, 9 years after his retirement.
