George Shultz

George Pratt Shultz (born the December 13rd 1920) is an American politician who was Secrétaire with Work of 1969 with 1970 and Secrétaire with the Treasury of 1972 with 1974 under the mandate of the President Richard Nixon and Secretary of State of 1982 with 1989 under the mandate of Ronald Reagan.

Studies and Career professional

Graduate in economy of the University of Princeton in 1942, Shultz then joined until in 1945 the Corps of the Marines of the United States of America where it will reach the rank of captain.

In 1949, Shultz is graduate Massachusetts Institute off Technology of Boston where he will teach until in 1957 except for the year 1955 where he is member of the Economic council of President Dwight Eisenhower.

In 1957, Shultz leaves to teach at the business school of the Université of Chicago.

Governmental career

Of 1969 with 1970, he is the Secretary with the Work of President Richard Nixon.

From 1970 with 1972, he is the Director of the budget.

From May 1972 to May 1974, Shultz is Secrétaire with the Treasury.

In 1974, it leaves the government little before the fall of Nixon to become the president of the Bechtel group. The July 16th 1982, President Ronald Reagan makes the sixtieth Secretary of State of it.

Republican moderated, Shultz succeeds a falcon, Alexander Haig.
