Biography
Second world war
George Langelaan was first of all a secret agent with the service of the British crown with the MI5 (to be checked). Number PP 751, Pompadour code.
It had then entirely been made remake the face, not to be recognized in these disturbed times. Restuck ears, double chin, George Langelaan, the young English officer had become Georges Langdon, French petainist with his small moustache and its wick on the côté.
Recruited by the Special Operations Executive, section French (F), it followed the special drive and was thus parachuted in France in the night of the 6 September 7th, 1941 in the south of Chateauroux, with five other agents. Its mission consists in coming into contact with resistance. It is arranged to meet old the
Edouard Herriot, which “does not wish to leave”. October 6th, while it waits to meet the operator radio operator Georges Bégué in a restaurant of Chateauroux to give him the message to be transmitted on the assessment of its mission, it is stopped by the French police force. It thus pays its freedom its categorical refusal, during its special drive, to learn how to handle itself the radio operator transmitters. July 16th, 1942, in company of several other agents of the also stopped SOE, he escapes from the camp of Mauzac (the Dordogne), where they had been gathered. With the release of Paris, it is one of the first, in British uniform, to enter the city, a team of war politique.
After the war
George Langelaan is “most naturally of the world” interested in the paranormal and the spirits, thus writing several stories on the phantoms. The double film adaptation of its news “the Fly” was a very great world success. In the Sixties', it takes an active part in the review “Planet” - and his/her little sister “Plexus” - of
Louis Pauwels, apostle of the fantastic Réalisme (in company of
Jacques Bergier, Aimé Michel, Remy Chauvin, Charles No5el Martin, Jean E. Charon and of good of others -
Jacques Sternberg, Bernard Heuvelmans, François de Closets, Paul-Emile Victor, Jacques Mousseau, Gabriel Véraldi, Raymond de Becker, Jean Yanne, Roland Topor, Jean Gourmelin, Rene Pétillon, Pierre Clayette, Pierre-Yves Trémois…). It is also very active within the newspaper “Controls” of 1960 to 1963, transmitting to the children its memories of secret agent. From July 1970 in February 1971, he becomes collaborator of the monthly review “Espionage” of Jacques Bergier, for nine numbers with the Opta editions, in company of Northern Pierre and Gabriel Véraldi of group XXX of the review Planet.
He did not believe in a God, but in a certain form of reincarnation (its name means “Long life”!)…
