George Koltanowski

George Koltanowski (September 17th 1903 with Antwerp, Belgium - February 5th 2000 with San Francisco) is a player of failures and Belgian Journaliste échiquéen then states-unien.

He learns the Jeu from failures at the 14 years age and becomes the best Belgian player following the death of Edgard Colle in 1932. Its international career really begins at the 21 years age when it takes part in the Tournoi of Merano, where it meets in particular Siegbert Tarrasch. He is many successes, in particular at the time of the Olympiade of failures of 1952 where he gains the gold medal for the the United States.

He is especially known for his simultaneous of 34 parts with the bandaged eyes, gaining 24 parts and losing some only 10, the whole in 13 hours and 30 minutes.
