George Hawi

George Hawi (Arab: جورجحاوي), born in Bteghrine (village with the Mount-Lebanon) in 1938 and dead the June 21st 2005, is a Lebanese man polic .

As of the 16 years age, Georges Hawi is devoted to fight against the poverty of the workmen of the Arab world. It organizes many demonstrations against the block dominating (demonstration against the rise in the price of water, etc…). It takes as a starting point the Marxist ideas . With the 21 years age, it attends a conference for the Communisme in Russia, in which it criticizes the manner deeply by which the Soviet Union applied the Marxist ideas and the aspect totalitarist that the Soviet Union took in this time. According to Hawi , the Marxism should preserve the freedom of the people by maintaining a democracy at a certain level and maintain an equality between the various classes of the Marxist company …

In 1979, he is elected leading Lebanese Communist party . During the Lebanese Civil war (1974 - 1990), it creates with Muhsen Ibrahim the face of Lebanese national resistance in 1982, during the occupation Israel ienne of the Lebanon, by gathering all Lebanese different parties and confessions. After the war, it works for the reconciliation between the various parties, and is opposed more and more to the Syrian Hégémonie .

It takes share with the Révolution of the cedar and supports the Democratic Left-wing candidates to the legislative elections. He is assassinated the June 21st 2005 by a bomb placed under the seat of his car.
