George Bancroft
George Bancroft (October 3rd 1800 – January 17th 1891) was a historian and American politician. While he was secretary of the Navy, he founded the American naval academy with Annapolis in 1845. Its most important work is the History off the United States, from the Discovery off the American Continent .
