George Ayscue

George Ayscue (Ca 16161671) is an admiral English, which served during the English civil war and the Guerres anglo-Dutchwomen.

In 1648, during the civil war, while being used as captain in the navy on behalf of the Parliament, it prevents the fleet from deserting the royalist camp, and is named general at sea. In 1651 it is used under the orders of Robert Blake in the reconquest of the Scilly Isles as Mr John Grenville. Later the same year, it captures the pirates of the Barbades of the Willoughby lord and other English colonies in Americas.

During the First war Anglo-Dutchwoman it east demolishes by the Dutch admiral Michiel de Ruyter with the Bataille of Plymouth. Relieved of its command, it enters to the service of the Swedish royal Marine, until the restoration of Charles II.

During the Second war anglo-Dutchwoman it orders a squadron with the Bataille of Lowestoft in 1665. The Battle four days, in 1666, its flagship, the Prince Royal , fails on the bench of Gallopping and it is forced to go, gaining the unhappy privilege to be the last admiral of the English navy to be captured by the enemy. He passes the remainder of the war captive to the prison of state of Loevestein in Holland.
