Georg Schnéevoigt

Georg Schnéevoigt is a Leader and violoncellist Finnish, born in November 8th 1872 with Vyborg (then in Finland, today in Russia) and deceased in November 28th 1947 with Malmö (Sweden)

Biography

It begins its career while occurring with the violoncello solo through Europe in the years 1890. Then it becomes the first violoncello solo of the Philharmonic orchestra of Helsinki of 1896 with 1902. After this period, it is devoted to the direction, with many prestigious orchestras, from Munich to Los Angeles.

Schnéevoigt was a friend close to Jean Sibelius of which it defended the music. It has thus redécouvert part of the continuations '' Lemminkäinen '' which had been lost, then to create the first of the Symphonie n° 6.
