Geometridae

The Geometridae train an big family of almost 20.000 species.

The family was created by William Elford Leach (1790-1836) in 1815.

They are moths or twilight to the caterpillars measuring worms. Three pairs of true thoracic legs and two pairs of false legs at the end of the abdomen are at the origin of their mode of particular displacement.

The caterpillars are often ravageuses défoliatrices.
