Urban geography

The geography of the Countries of the Loire is articulated around various Metropolis and rivers various. these last are three and give to the area by their size, their population and their economic power a choice place in entire French space. Nantes is incontestably the large city of the area, dynamics, open on the sea and very populated, the 7th town of France by its population brings enormously to the area. It is the primodiale city of the Loire, so has an opening by Water, just as by the air thanks to its airport: Atlantic Nantes. The urban surfaces remain cepndant relatively rare in the countries of the Loire since only the other large metropolises remain Mans and Angers. Together, they have a perfect complementarity in Ligérien space with both their assets. They have large assets ecomic, cultural and especially are two cities with the geography very " naturelle". Angers is articulated around the Loire and guard of many wooded spaces while Mans, crossed by the Sarthe also offers an excellent flowering for a metropolis of this size.

Angers and Mans remains excellent " cities; secondaires" after Nantes since having each one a port, an airport (Angers-Marcé and Mans-Hunaudières) and a great autonomy, it are of the various medium-sized cities of strategic economic importance on the national plan. These three metropolises are thus to separate from the other cities like Laval or the Rock on Yon, since briskly exceeding the 200.000 inhabitants in periphery, they compose the motive fluids of the Ligéienne economy. From here at 2010, all these metropolises will have their Tram, since Nantes always preserves to it his, that of Mans is already almost ready tandis Angers will connect continuation afterwards. With final, and in spite of the departmental competitions, the three cities that historically nothing brings closer find dependant by the same prospect for demographic trends and economic constant since being one of the most powerful area of France.
