Geoffroy IV of Anjou

Geoffroy IV of Anjou , known as Martel , dead the May 19th 1106 was a count d' Anjou associated with his/her father of 1098 with 1106. It was wire of Foulque IV Réchin, count d' Anjou and of Turns, and Ermengarde de Bourbon.

One estimates the date of his birth between 1070 and 1075. Towards 1098, supported by the barons angevins, it revolted against his/her father, of which it disapproved the policy, and obliged it to divide the government of the county. It had also to fight the vassal disobedient ones and was assassinated during seat of Candé, in 1106, perhaps at the instigation of his father.
