NBN (Belgian Standard/Belgische Norm) is the official organization Belgian of standardization. He is member of the International organization of standardization (ISO). He succeeds the IBN/BIN (Belgian Institute of Standardization/Belgisch Instituut voor Normalisatie) at December 1st, 2006 following a transition process engaged by a law of April 3rd, 2006.
Recognized like establishment of public interest, it has as a main mission “of working out standards, with an aim of creating an economic and social framework optimal, inside whose the obstacles with the trade are removed; the products, services and processes are optimized and the safety of the people and the environment are guaranteed. ”
This organization publishes standards with the format NBC XXX and NBN XXX.
