Gensômaden Saiyuki

Gensômaden Saiyuki , usually called Saiyuki , is a Manga and one animates created by Kazuya Minekura based on the famous Chinese novel of the Voyage in Occident ( Saiyuki in Japanese). The series paper is composed of 9 volumes left to the editions Génération Comics, subsidiary of Panini Comics France. Since 2007, the continuation of the series, entitled Saiyuki Reload , appears with the editions Panini Comics.

Short summary of the history

In this manga, one follows 4 young men: Its Gokû (this character was inspired by the legend of the king of the monkeys as in Dragon Ball ), Cho Hakkai (human transformed into yokai (Japanese monster)), Sha Gojyo (a mongrel born of the alliance of a yokai and human) and Genjyô Sanzô (Sanzô is the name given to the priests which takes care on will sûtras).

The history starts with the Togenkyo (terrestrial paradise) where human and yokais had learned how to coexist in peace. But one day, of the negative waves invaded the world, transforming yokais them in beings violent one and bloodthirsty men. They are reflected to attack and devour the human ones. These negative waves were caused by the use of chemistry and sorcery. This magic taboos was used for ressusciter Gyûmao , the demon bull. To prevent this resurrection, the goddess Kanzeon , sent four men towards the Tenjiku (India) (Its Gokû, Cho Hakkai, Sha Gojo and Genjô Sanzô).

Main characters

Its Gokû: In the manga one says that he has not eaten for several centuries because of his long imprisonment (500 years). It is at least the reason which Sanzo gives, when Gojo complains to intend Goku to require to eat. It is called " ouistiti" even " idiot of singe" (baka saru) by Gojo and Sanzô. The diadem which it carries is used him to channel its magic. If it is withdrawn to him, Gokû becomes furious (it is transformed into Seiten Taisei, a creature surpuissante, the equal one of a god) and attacks all the people whom it sees, even his/her companions. Its weapon names the magic stick (Nyoibô) which it can increase with wish and even divide into three branches.

Cho Hakkai: A man calm and smiling but to the past sinks. Indeed, before it meets his Hakkai companions lived a terrible history. Formerly it was called Cho Gono; whereas it carried out a peaceful life with its liked well, Kanan, which was also his/her older sister, and that it worked as a professor, its been engaged was made remove by a group of yokais. It went to the castle and insane out of despair and pain, it killed all the monsters which are reflected across its way. When it arrived at the cell of its liked well, she explained to him why she had been violated and carried in her the child of the monster which had removed it. Then, it took the knife which it carried, made him a last good-bye and planted it in the belly. For this day Hakkai has been a yokai; transformed to have killed 1000 yokais. Its weapon is the ki, its energy which it can send on its enemies in the form of balls of will have; it can also make use of it to look after the wounds by transferring its own vital energy.

Sha Gojyo: When it was small his/her mother-in-law did not like it because he was semi-yokai semi-man: a child taboo. One day, it failed to kill it but his/her big brother, Jien alias Dokugakuji, assassinated it. Being semi-man semi-yokai its hair and its eyes are red blood (in spite of the fact that in the manga they appear fuchsia), it will be very complexed by this color because his/her mother-in-law unceasingly pointed out it to him. It is an incorrigible dredger and it will make turn the head to several pretty girls. He smokes; he plays charts to earn his living before joining the group of Sanzo.

Genjyô Sanzô: It is the holder of one of will sûtras, that of the sky malefic. Just like Gojyo, it smokes but it is apparently the only common point which it has with the latter. He never laughs, is not interested in the girls. It is an atypical monk: he drinks, smokes, plays and draws with all goes with his gun. One knows only very few things on him and his past. But it is known that it was very attached to its Master, the Sanzô precedent. Sanzo wants to be some much because, when it was to appoint monk, the monastery in whom it lived with his Master made attacked by monsters and Sanzô could nothing make for its Master lorqu' it was removed and killed. Genjyô Sanzô would be the reincarnation of a god (Konzen) who would have already done many things. When it passes in the villages which know its statute of high monk, those accommodate it with much respect and honor, which Sanzô does not support because it with the impression to benefit from people. Its weapons are will sûtra it (that it seldom uses) and a very special firearm because it can kill out of yokais (that it is what is known as in animates, but in the manga it is an animal Smith&Wesson, " ideal size to draw a ball in the head with any moment".

What one can say of the group of Goku, Hakkai, Gojyo and Sanzô, it is that it carries all in them a deep wound which prevents them from doing anything which can wound somebody. Sanzo says it besides has Gojyo. " If one fights, isn't this, in a direction, to forget the pains which one carries? "

Kogaiji: It is the chief of a group of yokais with the service of the woman who wants ressusciter Gyûmao, Gyokumen. It is the half-brother of Ririn but it takes great care of it. It carries out the orders of Gyokumen in the hope which it raises the fate which keeps his/her captive mother. Wire of Gyûmao, it is not less attentive with those which follow it and has a good bottom for it. He categorically refuses to fight differently than with honest against the group of Sanzô. A 19 year old teenager, a little " paumé". It uses the magic to fight: it can call upon monsters.

Dokugakuji: It fights for Kogaiji, dedicating respect to him and friendship, it regards it as his/her little brother. It is the brother of Gojyo. It has a sword to fight.

Ririn: It is the half-sister of Kogaiji. One can say that it is the female version of Goku, even appetite, even practice to sink in the heap. She loves much her brother. She uses the magic like her brother but also her monstrous force.

Yaone: She is with the service of Kogaiji, since this one saved it death. It is expert in poisons and potions of cure.
