Geno cyber

Geno cyber (ジェノサイバー), also written Genocyber , is a Manga in only one volume of Tony Takezaki, published in Japan in 1993. The series was then adapted in a OAV of five episodes in the current of the year 1994. In France, this manga was published by the editions Samurai in 1996. The editor having omitted to buy of them as a preliminary the rights, marketing was brutally stopped, and this manga is not available any more to the sale since years.

Synopsis

Professor Morgan has two girls who have capacities of telepathy. He makes use of it like guinea-pigs in his experiments on the interaction between the human brain and the machine. But a company is interested in its work. They remove the small family and forces Morgan to continue its research. The two sisters can become the absolute weapon: one thanks to its immense psychic capacities, the other thanks to its mechanical body. Assemblies together, they form Genocyber. But no one did not take into account their human sensitivity…

Main characters

Helen & Diana: Twin sisters, they maintain both strange psychic bonds which wake up the curiosity of the scientists, and especially that of their father, professor Morgan. They do not hesitate to put their life in danger to enable him to carry out experiments over them, until those cannot hold any more the situation…

Morgan : Famous scientist, it is admired per many of his colleagues for his talent and his research, but there remains conscious however reality of the things, and will do everything to release his daughters.

Kenneth : Another scientist with much of regard for Morgan, it does not include/understand his sentimentalism, that it judges ridiculous compared to the scientific projections, and is ready with very to go until the end of his research.

Garnes : Powerful and rich business man, his ambition is to create the machine of perfect war, and it ardently wishes to arrive there, whatever are the means.

Geno cyber : A mysterious invincible entity born from the fusion of the two binoculars…

Analyzes

Because of his extreme violence, at the time of his exit in France, the editor made appear the mention " Reserved with the adultes" on the cover. Indeed, as of the first chapter entitled " Overture" , one attends the massacre of human being made perforate the eyes by a androïde with drilling machines which leave to him its ocular pits. However, Genocyber is not either a manga of free violence, as the continuation of the history shows it.

Indeed, he wonders about the future of a humanity dominated by technology with his detriment, and gives an approach rather right of the human nature. Its many scenes of violence give him a distressing environment, and even shivering, because the result with such a future is not impossibe.

Having a perfect command of the wire of its work, and with a looked after drawing, Tony Takezaki sign here a manga which will not fail to point out Akira Katsuhiro Ōtomo, or Ghost in the Shell of Masamune Shirow.
