Genneton is a common French, located in the department of the Two-Sevres and the area Poitou-Charentes.

History

Under the Old Mode and until the French revolution, Genneton was initially dependant on the Pays of election of Montreuil-Bellay before depending on the Sénéchaussée on Saumur.

In 1790, during creation of the French departments, Genneton is attached with other communes of the Resident of Saumur, at the new department of the Two-Sevres.
