Genneton

Genneton is a common French, located in the department of the Two-Sevres and the area Poitou-Charentes.

History

  • With the Middle Ages, Genneton concerned the common steps of Poitou and Anjou.
  • Under the Old Mode and until the French revolution, Genneton was initially dependant on the Pays of election of Montreuil-Bellay before depending on the Sénéchaussée on Saumur.

  • In 1790, during creation of the French departments, Genneton is attached with other communes of the Resident of Saumur, at the new department of the Two-Sevres.
