Genly
Genly (in Picardy Jinli , in Walloon Djinli ) is a section of the common Belgian of Quévy, located in Wallonia in the Province of Hainaut.
It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.
Etymology
Since 1024, this name did not vary and the popular continuous one to say Jinli. However, " Li " wants to say Lieu and Gen or Jim is apparently an abbreviation of geniestre, genette, broom, the beautiful shrub with the yellow flowers. Or, would it be about the proper name Gen, Genus or Jehan? It is difficult to conclude.
