Genevieve of Gaulle-Anthonioz

Genevieve de Gaulle , born the October 25th 1920 and dead the February 14th 2002, niece of Charles de Gaulle, resistant, was off-set and president of DTA Fourth World.

Biography

Resistant as of June 1940, it multiplies the actions of information and information, in particular within the network “Defense of France”. It is released in April 1945, and marries the following year Bernard Anthonioz, young editor of resistant so old art and he, with which it has four children.

Genevieve of Gaulle-Anthonioz wrote a book, fifty years after her release of the camp of Ravensbrück telling her life in concentration camp and the mutual aid between women. This book is entitled the Crossing of the night (available in the collection Point Threshold).

Active member then president of ADIR (Association of off-set and interned resistance), it follows the lawsuits of the Nazi criminals to Germany, then takes part in the rise of the political movement launched by his uncle, RPF.

In 1958, it works with the cabinet of André Malraux when it meets the Father Joseph Wresinski, then chaplain of the Noisy-the-Large Bidonville of . In the sufferings of the families that it meets there, it revives those which itself and other deportees had lived. In 1987, she testifies on cruelty Nazi at the time of the lawsuit of Klaus Barbie.

Named in 1988 member of the Economic and Social Council, it fights during ten years for the adoption of a law of orientation against great poverty. Deferred in 1997 due to dissolution of the National Assembly, her law is voted in 1998.
